On November 26, at the construction site of the Dongshan cross-sea bridge in the Fujian section of the Zhangshan-Shantou high-speed railway, as a girder box weighing hundreds of tons was accurately placed on the bridge piers, the entire Zhangshan-shantou high-speed railway entered the cross-sea girder construction stage. The Dongshan cross-sea bridge, which completed the construction of the first box girder at this time, is 20.26 kilometers long and is the longest cross-sea bridge on the entire Zhangshan-Shantou railway line. Zhangshan-shantou high-speed railway is an important part of the coastal corridor of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. Construction began on February 4, 2024.
